Hi there! I'm Ms. Howson and I am excited about working with your child this year and providing support for not only your child but also you as a parent and the amazing teachers that will be working with your child.

A little bit about my education background....

 I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Rogers State University, a Masters  Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella Univeresity, a  Post-Masters Certification Degree in Play Therapy from Capella University and a Post-Masters Graduate Certification in School Counseling from UNC Charlotte. 

A little bit about my work background...

I have several years of experience working with youth with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, substance use disorders and mental health disorders as well as youth involved with Juvenile Justice and now youth within the school system.I have been in the Counseling Field for 10 years and this will be my 5th year as a School Counselor at Vass-Lakeview Elementary. 

And a little bit about me...

I was born in North Carolina and grew up in North Carolina, Texas, and Oklahoma (my father served in the military). I moved back to North Carolina in 2014 and have settled my roots in my home state once again.

I got married over the summer (legally I am now Mrs. Gagnon). My husband is in law enforcement as well as a photographer (Blue Line Portraits). We also started a side business this year, Blue Line Crafted, where we create personalized lazer engraved items. So you might see us at local vendor events! 

I have a 19yo son, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 2 lizards. 


I enjoy DIY projects, gardening, painting, crafting, movies, hanging out at the beach/lake/river/mountains, kayaking & tubing, and always having a bright manicure!
